Artists

Mika Ninagawa
Photographer and film director Mika Ninagawa, as part of her creative team EiM, is taking on the challenge of holding the artist's most extensive exhibition ever.
This exhibition embodies Mika Ninagawa's creative approach, which sublimates the ephemeral beauty found in everyday life into an eternal existence and uses videos and photographs taken exclusively for this exhibition as a starting point for researchers and architects. It comprises 14 spatial works co-created with talents from different fields, including musicians.
A group of works expressed using free techniques, such as three-dimensional sculptures and large-scale installations, are interconnected, and the exhibition structure, which begins in a dark space, is a complete change from the vividly colorful impressions that Ninagawa has expressed up until now and allows for quiet viewing. It stirs people's emotions.
The venue will be Tokyo Node, an information dissemination base that opened on October 6, 2023.
The works were created to resonate with the venue's characteristics, such as the location and shape of Tokyo Node Gallery, which is 45 floors above ground, has a total area of approximately 1,500 square meters, and a maximum ceiling height of 15 meters. It is a site-specific installation that takes on a different look each time you visit, such as incorporating the scenery of Tokyo overlooking the window as part of the installation.
The experience is like walking through a "Treasure Land" 200 meters above the ground, inviting viewers to relive the story of her gracefully finding light in modern society and taking the viewer on an introspective journey.
