Waitingroom opened in Ebisu in autumn 2010 with the aim of introducing cutting-edge contemporary artists working across diverse media. In 2017, it moved to the Edogawabashi/Kagurazaka area. With a focus on young creators, the gallery’s objective is to introduce artists who observe the world from unique perspectives and through their works express new ideas and concepts in diverse ways. To make the gallery a less intimidating place to enter, with the name “Waitingroom” evoking an informal gathering space, it strives to create an atmosphere in which art viewers, gallerists, and artists can converse together naturally.
