Kohonya Honkbooks is a practitioner collective that has been active since June 2016. It is a media production company that produces videos and books, organizes exhibitions and projects, and operates the flagship store Kohonya as its base of activities. Led by Natsumi Aoyagi/Datsuo (artist), Gen Shimizu (book director), and Shintaro Wada (documentary director), all three are graduates of the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts.

In order to further develop the activities of the past two and a half years, the new Kohonya Honkbooks, which had been operating in Oji, Kita-ku, Tokyo since June 2016, was opened on November 3, 2019 in Ikebukuro, Tokyo in a larger space which has serving as a hub for art and culture.
