Mitsuo Aida Museum

Mitsuo Aida, a calligrapher and poet who continued to search for his own calligraphy and his own words, was born in Ashikaga, Tochigi, and spent his youth during the turbulent period after World War II, creating many works while focusing on the preciousness of “life". Mitsuo Aida's work, in which he honestly reveals his weakness and naivete and expresses himself as a human being as he is, speaks to the hearts of people living today, sometimes deeply and sometimes powerfully. The Mitsuo Aida Museum of Art, which exhibits and introduces many of his works, is based on the concept of "a place to spend two hours of your life," and is an art museum where you can not only touch the works but also savor them with your heart. The museum, which has a floor space of approximately 1,860 square meters, displays approximately 100 works at any given time, with special exhibitions held several times a year featuring work based on different themes.
