Totodo is a bookstore with a gallery space that deals in rare and old books related to art, photography, design, and architecture. Our selection focuses on modern and contemporary reference books that could be called "new classics," and is based on a comprehensive evaluation of books, including not only their contents but also their bindings and materials. In the gallery space, we hold special exhibitions several times a year. The shop opened in Toranomon in April 2006. We later moved to Azabudai, and on May 18, 2009, we opened our current store in Uguisudani-cho, Shibuya-ku.
The name "Totodo" comes from the fact that the Tokyo Tower could be seen from the window of the gallery in Toranomon. The store name "Totodo" is a combination of the scenery of the place where we started and the imagery of the letters when written in alphabet.
