Kyoto Institute of Technology - Kyoto Design Lab Tokyo Gallery

Kyoto Design Lab Tokyo Gallery is a space run by the Kyoto Institute of Technology (KIT). Since 1899, KIT has pioneered practical education in design and engineering in Japan. KIT’s new Kyoto Design Lab (D-lab), founded in 2014, has been selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to deliver its strategic vision of innovation and excellence in higher education in the fields of architecture and design.
The D-lab aims to identify and solve contemporary social challenges and is the first institute of its kind in Japan to focus on architectural education and research into urban revitalization. The “Kyoto Institute of Technology - Kyoto Design Lab Tokyo Gallery” has been opened as a place to share the results of D-Lab projects and provides a platform for both school associates and non-associates to interact.
