Photo Gallery International, founded by Sata Corporation as part of its corporate cultural programs initially at Toranomon, Tokyo, is one of the few galleries specializing in fine art photography in Japan. Since its opening in 1979, the gallery has been introducing outstanding photographers worldwide. Its activities were expanded in 1990 with the opening of P.G.I. Shibaura, annex gallery with accessory shop, at Shibaura. When the gallery at Toranomon was compelled to move, owing to a new governmental land relocation program, these two facilities were integrated and a new gallery was opened in September, 2000, to continue its activities under the traditional name of Photo Gallery International at the site of Shibaura. In October 2015, moved to Higashi Azabu.
