朝倉文夫は日本近代彫塑の父として広く知られています。元々自宅兼アトリエとして建てられた朝倉彫塑館では、「大隈重信侯像」をはじめとする彫刻が常設展示されたアトリエをはじめとして、書斎や応接室、茶室などがご覧頂けます。休館：12月29日～1月3日

The house, it's all about the house. Fumio Asakura may be the father of Japanese modern sculpture, his greatest work is not made of bronze, but of concrete, wood, straw, and the sound of flowing water.

It may be that one of the bronze nudes in the main studio touched me by surprise with a smile that spoke to me of beloved times, it may be that the bronze cats' room alone could be one of these thematic museums Japan seems so fond of; but ultimately, it's the house: its intimidating black facade, its maze of stairs and room which will have you change slippers three or four times before you have finished visiting it, its confucean garden and from the roof, a view on one of the most quiet and adorable neighbourhoods of the city...
Ultimately, it's the house that steals the show.
