Artists

Koki Tanaka
Koki Tanaka (1975- ) is an artist who works primarily with video, but he has also worked on other media such as 3D and installation. Cola flowing endlessly from a can and a die rolling unceasingly in a cup – Tanaka’s visual projects depict the extraordinary, and call for many interpretations.
From February to August of this year, Koki Tanaka has received a grant from the Asian Cultural Council (ACC), and worked at Location One in New York.
This exhibition will feature ten videos filmed in New York and Boston, and ten ‘verbal instructions’ to be fulfilled in Gunma. The exhibition rooms will be likened to a maze, and the whole exhibition will take form as one 'city'. Visitors will encounter images and words while roaming this ‘city’.
