As part of its first anniversary celebrations the Mori Art Museum, with the cooperation of Sotheby’s Japan, has organized a charity auction of contemporary Japanese art that will be held on 3rd December. At the Gala Reception held on the 52 Floor of the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, five unique ART x MINI cars, especially designed by some of Japan’s leading artists will be auctioned along with a selection of twenty important contemporary Japanese artworks. These will be sold to benefit a number of international charities. In this special way the museum is working with artists and sponsors to create a synergy that benefits cultural activity and society at large.
The auction has been assisted by the artists involved, BMW Japan Corp., MINI Division and BASF NOF Coatings Co., Ltd. The following charities will benefit from the auction: the Special Olympics Nippon, Kids Earth Fund, and Japan Alliance for Humanitarian Demining Support (JAHDS) and the 40th anniversary fundraising drive of the Asian Cultural Council.
