Seiki Kuroda (1866-1924) left huge footprints in modern japanese art as a painter, pedagogue and art administrator. He helped revolutionize mid-Meiji period painting, and his influence reached far and wide throughout the literary-art world. 126 oil paintings, 170 dessins, sketchbooks and letters are on exhibit in the Memorial Hall.
