Artists

Taro Okamoto
It is hardly known that Taro Okamoto could draw in such a realistic manner. During the fierce struggles of post-war avant-garde art, there was no room for exposing such art. However, when drawing people's faces for fun over a few drinks, his controlled movements would command much attention. He could immediately capture the essence of his subjects, at times seeing beyond the subject, fascinating with the precision of his vision.
The drawings in this exhibition are such instances. Although never intended for release, there is nothing slack about them. Their prestige and elegance is signature Taro Okamoto.
