Artists

Joan Jonas
A leading figure in performance and video art fields, Joan Jonas began her artistic activities in 1960s New York. From then on to the 70s, she worked closely with experimental groups and artists such as Richard Serra, Robert Smithson, Philip Glass. Jonas would turn a ritualistic or an everyday activity into a story, incorporating props such as mirrors and masks in its installation and making references to myths. Using various forms of media such as film, video, installation, and performance, she creates a world where memory, reality and the virtual linger. This exhibition presents a video installation, and also her latest drawings and photographs.
