Born in Paris in 1928, Bernard Buffet saw his popularity grow after sending his work to the Salon des Indépendants in 1947. His work, not limited to paintings, expanded to block print, illustration, and even theatrical art. In the lithography field, he has left many series and is known for his contributions to making lithography an art, not a replication work.
For this exhibition, the museum will display numerous lithography series including undisclosed ones; "Jeux de Dames" 1970 (10 items), "Carmen" 1981 (15 items), and also "New York" 1964 (10 items), "Mon Cirque" 1968 (44 items), and "Don Quixote" 1989 (10 items).
