Art Fair Tokyo has invited 81 first-rate galleries in Japan and from overseas to present their fine works of art. Art Fair Tokyo strives to build a healthy and accessible art market not only in Japan but also in Asia.
The infrastructure of the art market in Japan has had troubles developing for many years despite the existence of an ever increasing number of collectors and art fans. They simply do not have the chance to get to know other artists, galleries, the price of art works or a way to purchase any of them. Indeed, the art world has only been accessible to a limited number of people.
"Change the situation and open up the art market" is the main aim of Art Fair Tokyo. The inauguration of Art Fair Tokyo is a significant moment in the broad cultural development of Tokyo and its inhabitants. It is a unique art fair dealing with Contemporary art, Modern art and Japanese traditional prints and antiques, all of which are of high quality.
