Artists

Yasumasa Morimura
The black-and-white still-life pictures Yasumasa Morimura took during his early period in the mid 1980s find their origins in the 1920s and 30s experimental photography when silver salt film mesmerized modernist photographers all over the world. With the publication of Yasumasa Morimura's bearing the same name, this exhibition aligns work from his early days, pieces from his famous oeuvre and recent work.
A Gallery Talk entitled "Presents / words, photograps, and me" will be held on December 18 (Sun) from 4 pm to 6 pm, featuring Yasumasa Morimura himself and guest Gozo Yoshimasu (・1939), Tokyo-born modernist poet, active as a photographer and copperplate sculptor.
