The Tenmei-Kansei period (1781-1801) is said to have been the golden age of Ukiyo-e printing. The multi-process woodcut print was developed rapidly and a large number of masterpieces were created during this era by such renowned artists as Syaraku and Utamaro. Approximately 100 paintings are on display.
