This Orleans-based young French graphic designer with a cryptic name was brought into the limelight in Japan two years ago with the award of both the Grand Prix and the Yusaku Kamekura International Design Award in Japan's only poster competition open to international entries, the International Poster Triennial in Toyama. "An indisputable expressive power and contemporary sense", "the strength of their originality and impact", "the audacity of their compositions", "their fantastical use of color and aggressive imagery", and "the originality of the techniques used in these works"... these phrases taken from the judging panel's evaluation for that competition testify to the uniqueness and impressive nature of these posters.
The centerpiece of this exhibition is the series of posters for the Centre Dramatique National / Orleans-Loiret-Centre, which won the Grand Prix at Toyama. Original artworks that might be described as the source of the designer's unique visuals, as well as experimental projects, are also due to go on display. It might be possible to catch a glimpse of the secret of these mysterious design activities.
