Small & Beautiful: Swiss Design Today

D-Akihabara temporary
Finished
"Small & Beautiful: Swiss Design Today" will display over 400 Swiss-designed pieces including Swatch wristwatches, Swiss Army knives, Naef toys, and Reitag bags. This exhibition is the first of a national tour featuring modern design from Switzerland. In addition to established fields such as artwork, accessories, industrial design, graphic design, and book design, new ground in fashion, textiles, and furniture will be covered by young designers.
Switzerland's neutrality, beautiful scenery and pleasing designs of watches and chocolates are extremely appealing to Japanese people. According to statistics, it is the country that has the most favorable impression on the people of Japan. It is said that this is because they have achieved the lifestyle that the Japanese hold to be most ideal.
High quality design and technology are deeply rooted in Swiss culture too and this will be one of the first great opportunities to witness this in Japan.
