Finished

Artists

Pierre-Joseph Redoute, Philip Reinagle et al.
The development of modern botanical art was facilitated by the simultaneous pursuit of scientific accuracy and aesthetic beauty. The exhibition will cover this development as it occurred in both the western world and Japan, mainly through the Makino Kouchi Prefectural Botanical Garden’s collection. Roughly 250 works, ranging from renaissance wood prints to modern botanical paintings, will be on display.
Works displayed will be rotated over the duration of this exhibition.
