Tatsuya Matsui
An exhibition of designer Tatsuya Matsui, who is working with a new airline called Star Flyer ( http://www.starflyer.jp ), which will commence service with the opening of the New Kitakyushu Airport in March 2006. Matsui envisaged transportation through space with the aircraft from the viewpoint of “vehicle as architecture” and incorporated the concept of “hospitality” in his approach to space presentation. Can this “innovation in transportation” that creates a new flow of people be seen as an innovation that design has brought to cities and local economies?
The exhibition lets visitors relive the process of how and from what viewpoint Matsui created the design for Star Flyer.
