Artists

Kozue Hibino
Since her debut in 1998, Kozue Hibino has presented her original costume designs in magazines, posters, plays, dance and films. Her creative process always starts with the question "What does it mean to wear clothes?" It helps her reach the sublime world of fantastical costume design.
This exhibition displays close to 150 of her works made in the past 5 years. They are displayed in a unique space in which black lines are constructed three-dimensionally, a conceptual idea taken from the set of the NHK educational programme "Karada de asobo", which she also designed. During the course of the exhibition there will be a performance in which people wearing her clothes will move around, and by doing so, reveal to the audience the true characteristics of her works. This will be her second solo exhibition at Spiral since her show "Kisei" ("Parasitism") in 1995.
