Mizuma Art Gallery is delighted to announce the Tomoko Konoike Exhibition, to be held 20 April - 21 May. This is Konoike’s third solo exhibition at Mizuma Art Gallery in three years since 2002.
Konoike is currently working on an epic four part 'tale', told from end to beginning. The fourth chapter, "The Return - Sirius Odyssey", was on exhibit at the Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art earlier this year, while chapter three, “Wreck” (2005), is being shown at the Mori Art Museum. This exhibition will feature the second chapter (yet untitled).
The day she finishes the last and first chapter, Konoike plans to display these paintings on four walls, constituting an Ouroboros series. No one knows what the final piece will look like and how the “tale” will be completed.
