The collection of the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art (Shinagawa, Tokyo) comprises about 850 works by artists from around the world. Featured in Gallery A are works by interior designer Shiro Kuramata, who died at the age of 56, and photographs by Nobuyoshi Araki, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Helena Almeida, Robert Mapplethorpe, Louisa Lambri and others. These works--the crystallizations of delicate, refined sensitivities—will surely teach us the pleasure that can be enjoyed through an encounter with an original imagination. Gallery B features works by Asian artists such as Zhang Huan, Liu Jianhua, and Zhou Tiehai from China, Surasi Kusolwong from Thailand, as well as Yayoi Kusama and Tabaimo from Japan.
