This is painter/poet Ooka's 3rd private exhibition held at Artfront Gallery. Like a symphony, shapes and colours resonate and overlap with each other in her paintings, while her poems cry out to realms beyond our mortal world. For Ooka, who since childhood had been exposed to modern art and poetry from the 1950-70s due to her father being a poet and critic, the expressive mediums of poetry and painting were a natural choice. The rhythmic elements seen throughout her work may be influenced by her learning the piano in Junior High and High school.
