Ushio Shinohara
Ushio Shinohara, commonly known as Gyu-chan, was a prominent figure in the anarchist movement that protested against the Art establishment in the 1960s for his distinctive wildness. 40 years on his counter-conventional energy still strongly emanates through his timeless "avant garde" works.
The "poisonous frog" in the title, which has already been seen in his most recent exhibition "Two Frogs talking about Cezanne", is an important icon for the artist. The exhibition will present not only his recent drawings from the book "The Revenge of the Poisonous Frog" but also drawings from the 1950s and sketchbooks that form the basis of the artist's creative endeavor.
