Yukari Ojima "This Bedbug"

Punctum
Finished

Artists

Yukari Ojima
Based in Kanazawa and Tokyo, Ono makes works with objects and photography. Circumstances made her leave Tokyo and return to her hometown of Kanazawa, where she started to take photographs. However, she felt as though her body and her feelings were being pulled back to the places in Tokyo where she used to go - Shibuya, Daikanyama, West Tokyo, Kanda, Yotsuya, Nakano, Tsukiji - and so she went back to photograph them.
Using photography as a medium to "find a sense of reality," Ono aims to sublimate her photographs with a feeling of happiness which encompasses both love and trauma.
On Friday 5th May (a national holiday) from 17:00 - 18:00, the gallery will be welcoming photography critic Kotaro Iizawa to give a talk and present a slideshow. No booking necessary. Admission free.
