Artists

Motohiro Toda
Photographer Motohiro Toda, featured in this 17th show of his, has been showing 6x6 format photographs to the theme of people and their surroundings. In 1999, he released a photo book titled "Lovers' Temple", featuring a wedding of the older sister of a resident priest. In 2004, he won a prize in the 22nd Hitotsubo exhibition for the sequel, "His Temple". These works were nostalgic, and seemed as if they were cherishing 'people' and the 'places' that they are situated in. This time, he has shifted to using a 4x5 camera, and focuses on capturing "landscapes with children" from a distant perspective. What sort of images of children will these childless photographs evoke?
