Higashikawacho International Photography Prize Collection Exhibition

Tokyo Photographic Art Museum
Finished
In 1985, Higashikawacho, which sits at the top of Hokkaido, became known throughout Japan as the "town of photography", as it had just launched an international photography festival taking place every summer offering the International Photography Prize (the Higashikawacho Prize), to outstanding photographers from home or abroad. Using the 20th year of this "town of photography" as its impetus, and in order to spread awareness of its history, the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography is, for the "Tokyo Month of Photography 2006", holding an exhibition of works from the collection of the Higashikawacho Prize.
