Mika Kato
Mika Kato (1975-) was born in Mie Prefecture and graduated from Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music with a master's degree in oil painting in 2001. For her second solo exhibition at this gallery, three new paintings, 6 charcoal works and one doll will be on display.
Kato's paintings express the beauty and ugliness of the world we live in with warmth and coldness at the same time. The final results convey a clear realism with a sense of ambivalent magic.
