This is an exhibition, due to travel around Japan, of work by Mexican artist María José Macorra, who has been inspired by Matsuo Basho's "The Narrow Road to the Deep North." Also being introduced in this show are four young Mexican women artists who have connections with Japan. All of these artists have stayed in Japan or had some relation to Japan in the past or at present. In addition to Macorra's exhibits relating to "The Narrow Road to the North" there will be installations, video works, and other works which offer a female perspective on Japanese culture. During the exhibition period there will be talks and performances: a wide variety of events aimed at promoting cultural exchange between Japan and young artists from Mexico.
