Dick Bruna (born in 1927, Utrecht, Netherlands) is one of the Netherlands' most renowned graphic designers and the creator of Miffy the rabbit. This exhibition uses Bruna's picture book "Miffy at the Gallery" (published in 1997) as a guide for visitors of all ages to the superb selection of contemporary art from the museum's permanent collection that is on display. Bruna's works will also be on view for visitors' enjoyment.
The book tells the story of Miffy's first visit with her parents to an art museum, describing her frank surprise and response to the many works of art that she encounters there. As such, it provides an easy to understand guide to the viewing of 20th century art.
