Kishio Suga
Kishio Suga was born in 1944 in Morioka, Iwate prefecture and graduated from Tama Art University. In 1967, he won the Shell Art Prize while still attending university. For the next 40 years, he participated in numerous shows in Japan and abroad, exhibiting a wide range of works simply using wood, stones, metal fragments, glass sheets etc... His works aim to take away the preexisting concepts related to the materials he uses.
The present exhibition will showcase some of his video works, including his performance called . Photography works and sculptures will also be on display. Suga himself will re-enact the performance on the opening day.
