Nami Kawakami Exhibition

LIXIL Gallery 1 & 2
Finished

Artists

Nami Kawakami et al.
Kawakami's sculpture work of 'moving' human figures have been pretty popular in the Kansai area since his graduation 9 years ago. This is his first solo show in Tokyo and he is hoping to wow you with his dynamic sculptures, such as the one doing a Chinese martial art, which arm appears blurred with speed and creates a smooth concave shape from its shoulder.
The mixture of ambivalent elements - new/old, academic/pop, old expression of pottery/modern expression of 3D structure - have allowed Kawakami to present humourous and touching expressions.
