Artists

Yoshino Masui
Yoshino Masui was born in Shizuoka prefecture in 1976. She has graduated from the Tama Art University, Department of Fine Art. She is now working in Tokyo. In 2004, she was discovered by Tomio Koyama during GEISAI#6 and this is her first exhibition at the Tomio Koyama Gallery.
Her watercolors are very delicate. They seem to be land/mindscapes of a mysterious forest. You may be able to find the horse and the cat hiding among the trees. The forest consists of thousands of dots and short curves and a vivid color arrangement that mistify the viewer and swallows him into the artist's obsessions. Her works, she explains, might have been influenced by sceneries from her childhood.
About ten new works are exhibited.
Opening Party 21st January from 6pm.
