Keiichi Tanaami
Since the 1960s, graphic designer Keiichi Tanaami has garnered worldwide attention for his radical and stylish visual expression. His unique use of color and the Tanaami psychedelic style in the motif of dreams, goldfish, pine trees and other elements have proliferated themselves in countless posters, films, paintings, objets d'art, art books and other works.
Out of Tanaami's wide variety of fun-filled, avant-garde creative activities that encompass videos, prints and animations, this exhibition will focus on graphic design. The first floor of the gallery will exhibit the 30 latest works the designer is currently working on, as well as three-dimensional pieces. In the basement you will find posters, videos and other works dating from the 1960s to the present, centered on City in the Sky, an original objet d'art created for this exhibition. All of these works provide an introduction to Tanaami's constantly escalating, multifaceted psychedelic world.
The volume "ggg Books 76-Keiichi Tanaami" is scheduled for publication in conjunction with the exhibition.
