Aiko Tezuka "Suture of hints - before the name"
This event has ended.
At Fuchu Art Museum
Media: Installation
Aiko Tezuka creates unique sculptures of craft-like structures, using fabric and embroidery. These works are based on paintings, but go further. She creates a strange world by removing specific threads from ready-made fabric, using that thread to embroider or weave, then installing it in open space. By dismantling and reproducing textiles of various designs, she creates new stories.
For this exhibition, she plans to juxtapose and embroider various designs from around the world with thread drawn from fabric that will be draped across the room. The space, which will keep changing through the process, can be seen as a metaphor of eroding boundaries within our unifying world.
