"In the event of people losing their homes in natural disasters, or a war, as a fashion designer, what kind of clothes can I propose, and how would they look in peaceful times." --Kosuke Tsumura
Final Home is a fashion brand whose concept is "Survival - Protection - Function - Recycle". They are also participating in exhibitions around the world as well as charity events for refugees on a regular basis. The creativity of Final Homes resides in their use of various materials linked to ultra urban settings or survival situations, that are never usually combined into a single product or clothe, such as filters of air conditioners, second hand hunting clothes or army coat and even 'akasuri' (a cloth that is used to scrub oneself in a bath). This concept gives birth to interesting mashup clothes but also products such as a sofa made from cardboard or candles made of chocolate.
This exhibition will put on sale and put up for auction a selection of artworks and original custom wear by the designer of Final Home, Tsumura Kousuke, as well as products of collaborations with other designers and artists.
It will not only be a great opportunity for us, living in a stable and safe society, to think about our "ordinary life" and loss thereof, but also a unique laboratory to re-examin our "ordinary life" and the invisible borders between fashion, design, and fine art.
