"Collage and Photomontage" Exhibition

Everybody has had the experience of cutting out their favourite photographs and sticking them onto a piece of paper. Since the 17th century, people have been sticking feathers and animal skins onto other things in order to make works of collage, but since the invention of photography, it is photographs that have been used in most collage works. Photographic collage makes it possible to express things that are difficult to portray, and to create unusual, improbable new messages that transcend reality, and this technique is now being used in fields other than photography. This exhibition shows the various ways in which collage has been used and aims to capture the wonder of its expression.
