This is the first large scale retrospective of Jiro Yoshihara (1905-1972) to be held in Tokyo. Osaka-born Yoshihara pioneered avant-garde art for over fifty years and was well known overseas as the leader of GUTAI. Celebrating the 100th anniversary of his birth, 190 works will be exhibited to present an overview of his diverse talent.
There will be lectures on June 17th and July 15th, and gallery talks by curators on June 30th and July 7th.
