New works by Kaoru Arima, answering the question "What is art?".
From picture scrolls to manga, Japanese art is characterized by its literariness and narrativity. Arima calls this 'visual literature', and uses it as the title of his exhibition. His theory is that all art starts from scribbling, and he will display pencil drawings depicting stories from his imagination and surroundings while staying true to the nature of 'visual literature'.
