Exhibition from the Museum Collection: "This is the Itabashi Kano School!"

Itabashi Art Museum
Finished
At the core of the collection of old art in the Itabashi Art Museum are works by the "Edo Kano School" which has 400 years of history. The museum has been collecting them for 25 years and conducting research and investigation into them. For those who have seen these works, the name "Kano School" makes them think of the greatest official painters for the Bakufu during the late Tokugawa period. However, the history of the Kano School is not very well known among most people.
Composed out of the Kano School works in the museum collection, this exhibition gives a clear explanation of the group and introduces its work in a fresh, contemporary way. There is also Japanese-style "zashiki" room where visitors can look at the works close up.
