Along with Shiba Koukan, Aodo Denzen was known as one of the representative Western-style painters of the Edo Period. This exhibition will present 90 of his oil paintings and copperplate etchings, in addition to 50 works by various other painters of the period who turned "Western-style expression" into its own distinct form of art.
