Japan and South Korea have had relations for a long period of time, and countless masterpieces have been born out of the interaction between these two countries. In both countries, the art of laquerware has developed independently of the other's influence. This exhibition will display contemporary lacquerware by both Japanese and South Korean artists in the same place so as to present the similaries and differences of the two cultures.
There will be a talk given by six Japanese and South Korean academics on September 30th from 10:00 to 17:00.
