This exhibition, curated by Koji Higashiya, is the first large-scale retrospective of Mitsuru Tokutomi's works since his death.
For Tokutomi, 'unfinished work' meant 'a work that was denied its finish' and therefore 'a work that will continue to hold endless possibilities'. Unfinished paintings from his 'a modest creation' series will be displayed for visitors to share this concept.
There will be an opening reception on June 24th, 18:00-20:00.

展示室の中央には、二層がそれぞれグラデーション状に彩色されたプラスチック性の大きなメビウスの輪があり、それを取り囲むようにして置かれた10個の低い展示台の上には、脱ぎ捨てられた黒い靴下がひと組づつ置かれている。この印象的な配置は、キュレーターの東谷隆司により決定されたものだ。作家は2001年に逝った徳冨満である。
