Nikkatsu reopened their studio in 1954, churning out action films that were instant hits with male stars such as Yujiro Ishihara and Akira Kobayashi. They dominated the screen for almost 15 years, giving birth to a new genre called "new action" along the way.
56 long features that were filmed between 1956-1971 and 1 short movie chronicling the construction of Nikkatsu Studio will be shown. Please visit their website for further details on screenings and talk events (Japanese only).
