"Taro Okamoto's Paintings - From Impulse to Realization" Exhibition

Taro Okamoto Museum of Art, Kawasaki
Finished

Artists

Taro Okamoto
The elementary colors and vigorous brushwork are characteristic of Taro Okamoto's paintings. While the spontaneity of his works makes it seem like they were shaped on the spot, Okamoto actually employed an orthodox style of first making sketches on paper with pencils and ink, then trying it on a small canvass with oil paints before starting on the final canvas itself.
This exhibition will display Okamoto's paintings alongside sketches, esquisse, photographs and videos to present the process of how his works were produced.
