JNP Production, the artist group from South Korea, consisting of Jo Seub, Noh Jae-Oon, and Park Chan-Kyong, stayed in TWS Aoyama's "Creator-in-Residence" program as part of pilot programs in 2006. JNP Production is now staying in TWS again for the coming exhibition at TWS Shibuya starting in September. On display will be "It's Clear and Extra", a reinvented version of their work "It's Clear", which was exhibited at the 6th Gwangju Biennale in 2006
In this session, JNP Production will talk about their new works in Tokyo, their exhibition at the 6th Gwangju Biennale, and how they use their works to express social uneasiness through the theme of the globalization and the myth of technology in Shanghai, Seoul, and Tokyo.
JNP Production, started in 2006, is an artistic production group that works together flexibly, adapting to different occasions. The acronym JNP comes from the names of three artists, Jo Seub, Noh Jae-Oon, and Park Chan-Kyong, all based in Seoul, Korea. JNP Production aims to give critique of Post-modern culture, which is often considered to be "artificial and superficial, ironical and whimsical, nomadic and shapeless, and neglectful of social importance".
