Artists

Antoine d'Agata
This artist was born in Marseille, France and started his career in photography after studying photography at New York's International Center for Photography under Nan Goldin and Larry Clark. In addition to winning awards, he has been a Magnum associate since 2004 and continues to be active all over the world.

This artist's works that depict grainy vestiges of images and the chaotic world of darkness are a record of time spent by him. The night scenes on the town, prostitutes, drug addicts, naked bodies with indistinguishable faces and lovemaking couples are beautiful for their existential nature and degeneracy. The boundary separating the photographing and photographed are blurred through his unique style as he creates a world where the conscious and unconscious and the accidental and inevitable overlap. Not only does his world leave an intense impression, but poses the question of what a documentary is.

The title of this exhibition is taken from Guy Debord's words and expresses the artist's radical and sincere attitude about world. He has made films in recent years as well, and his documentary film "Akaana" is scheduled to be released in Paris next year. This exhibition of 230 works will also feature new works related to this film.
