AIT will hold AIT SLIDE TALK #18 by Hannah Mathews on November 22nd from 19:00-21:00 at AIT room. Hannah Mathews is curator in residence with AIT for the month of November. Her residency has been made possible with the support of Asialink and the Department of Culture and the Arts, Western Australia. Hannah is a curator from Melbourne who has worked in a number of organizations that well represent the structure of Australia's arts community. She will talk about her career to date, including specific artist projects and curated exhibitions. In doing so, Hannah will give new audiences an outline on the ways in which the contemporary arts are supported in Australia.

Hannah will also pay particular attention to the initiative of the artist-run-space or ARI, a distinctly successful model used in Australia to diversify opportunities for showing art and developing artistic practices. The talk will be in English with consecutive translation into Japanese.
